Key Responsibilities:
As our Financial Accountant, you’ll manage day-to-day financial operations and provide insights that drive strategic business decisions. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and contribute to shaping the financial strategy of a growing AI company. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, adaptable, and excited about contributing to a high-growth organisation.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and journals
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, payroll journals, and expense reconciliation
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Prepare and assist with cash-flow reporting
- Handle tax filings, compliance tasks, and liaise with external auditors when required
- Develop and refine internal financial controls and accounting procedures
- Provide financial insights to leadership to support business decisions
- Assist with financial modelling for investment rounds, scenario planning, and growth initiatives
- Participate in cross-functional projects and help automate workflows as the business scales
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualification (or working toward one) preferred
- 2–5+ years of accounting experience; start-up or tech environment is a plus
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency with cloud accounting systems (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks)
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
- Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to change
