It’s commonly said that young people are the leaders of tomorrow, but what if, in this fast-paced world, young people are the leaders of today and tomorrow? Nintex, a workflow automation platform recently released a survey that showed Zoomers (otherwise known as Gen Z) are calling out for more automation to help them work better.
The Nintex Workplace 2021 survey, interviewed 1,000 American workers at companies with 501 – 50K+ employees to shed light on what matters to employees across multiple job roles and generations.
The top headline of the survey was that 70% of all the employees surveyed felt they had been more productive than expected while working remotely. More than half of employees said that their lives would improve if they could work from home permanently.
And when asked: “What would make work better?”, 55% of Gen Z respondents (commonly known as Zoomers), said access to software that helps their team automate manual and repetitive tasks would improve their work-life in 2021.
Automation as we know is the application of technology, programs, robotics, or processes to achieve outcomes with minimal human input. So are these Zoomers just looking to put their feet up, or does automation actually bring far greater benefits to the quality of their work?
Exploring the Top Three Benefits of Automation
- Increased Productivity – Teams that use automation actually increase productivity and get more done in less time, without having to acquire more resources. At Galvia, our automation software does the heavy lifting, taking care of notifications, updates, and routine reports, so that project managers no longer have to spend hours doing administrative work. By allowing our system to take care of these routine tasks, project managers are freed up to focus on the more important aspects of their work. Using templates and automation can help you launch new projects and tasks more quickly. Automation enables workers to pre-populate templates with standard information, saving time and reducing the likelihood of errors and missing data.
- Risk Control – Galvia amplifies project success for Enterprises by autonomously predicting risk and revealing strategic insights. We offer peace of mind that human bias won’t be a factor in decision-making and that where there is a high volume of work, the ball won’t be dropped and the quality will remain consistent. We build a suite of autonomous predictive learning algorithms for our clients that can automatically learn from data, improve with new information, provide insights from its learning, and where teams can directly ask questions about their projects in the same manner as a Google or Siri query.
- Better Communications – Automation can allow for all communications and notifications around a project to be streamlined both internally and externally. Galvia software integrates with existing tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and UiPath.
Various organisations have embraced emerging technology like automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning and this will likely continue beyond 2021.
While project managers do not need to become experts in AI or data analytics in order to prepare for these changes, they do need to be agile, adaptable, and good listeners.
The Zoomers have spoken and now it is up to Senior Management to listen – by promoting and developing an innovative culture where there is transparency and trust; expertise and insights are shared, and people feel empowered and energised to embrace the new.
